I've been quiet busy with school projects, as well as working on developing my own style through several sketches to improve myself at drawing full body characters. Pretty much just a lot of side studying outside of school work.
Lately been working alongside with my eldest sister to try and get stuff ready so we can sell stuff online, I will be selling art prints/ acrylic charms and such. What you typically will see me selling at Cons when i do attend. But for now Cons are being put on hold until I can get a button machine, and get a decent acrylic charm manufacturer that is in SEA. Problem I am running into is just the whole translation from english to chinese and visa versa to find a good manufacturer in this region >w<;!
Hopefully sumtime soon I will be able to upload all the tons of sketches I have been working on developing during my studies
and yes I had a good bday, went to the aquarium here in SG found out that I bought the wrong tickets cuz they opened up a new one that I wasnt aware of. Still was wayyyy better then the one I had went to a few years back w@ Sadly my son fell asleep halfway through :< still was a great time thou.
Once my hubby decides to stop putting off the time my son is supposed to start school Ill start being more active again. Once hes off to school ill start up doing live stream on a daily bases for commission/doodle time, as well as Ill be able to do more NSFW pieces since I wont have a two year old looking at my screen every few mins.
So let’s talk Naka-Kon 2015 convention that will be held in Kansas City. This is a convention that I had went to during my high school years; it was my very FIRST convention I had ever attended. I had attended each year it was started since 2004 when it was held at KU Campus. Sadly I had stopped attending after leaving for college, and soon moving to Singapore.
I remember attending that first year, barely anyone was there but the one thing I remember was being in awe of those artist that were doing booths. I remember thinking how brave they were for having so much confidence to do that and even draw in front of crowds of people. The one thing that has stuck with me since then was that I wanted to do that someday. 11 years later and here I am trying to get a booth at Naka-Kon convention. I did get an email response back from them, but I am still waiting on the final response as to if I am accepted to have a booth in artist alley. Out of all the conventions that I could possible get a booth at here in Southeast Asia, I would give them all up just to attend and booth at Naka-Kon.
Anytime this month I can hear a response back from them, as soon as I do I will be updating here so that if anyone is in the USA and is able to attend then they could drop buy. I will be selling acrylic charms, some new designs I am working on along with Bookmarks, stickers and more. I am keeping my hopes up to hear a final yes from them!
Has anyone with a tablet ever had this issue before??
I just wanted to let everyone know that over at my redbubble shop; we now have duvet bed covers available! I am still in the process of fixing all my designs to fit on the covers, some are already done as of now. The duvet covers come in twin, queen, and king sizes; also if you did not know their are matching pillows/pillow cases that you can purchase as well.
Why artists get so pissed off --"Why do you artists always get so pissed off when someone uses your artwork? You should take it as a compliment!"
"You should take it as a Compliment --"
A compliment would be admiring an artist's work where they post it, and if you really want to use it that badly, complimenting them would be you having enough respect for them to ask first.
Most of us don't get mad because you use it, it's because you use it without asking or pretend you didn't know who/where it came from when there's a link to where you can find the original artist on the image.
Taking someone's car to crash it in a derby isn't a compliment to them any more than taking someone's art to wreck it or claim it is a compliment. More so without asking.
"What about realism artists?! They copy from photographs all the time, no originality there but you don't yell at them for copying photos! What makes
*Has a big fear of dentist/doctors* >
Anyways..to deal with the pain I have been guzzling mouthwash religiously throughout the day, and popping pills when its too bad.
Currently I am installing windows on it, so hopefully this goes good, no funky errors and I am able to start drawing my heart out again, I do have a typography and digital imagine manipulating courses this semester so I might decide to post up works from those classes as well. I am really backed up on commissions so I will be posting up some of the commissions as well.
In the meantime, I am almost caught up with school work *phew* -w-; but I got a buttload of actual work for my hubbys company to do. Mainly doing logo and web design for his clients. @@; dunno if I will bother to post up that work here since I generally do not like this type of work lol. D: Iunno maybe if I am bored enough I will post just to show =w= we will see..
Anyways I have alot of catching up to do, soon I will have a new GPU for my desktop so I can start drawing digital work again. I no longer have a scanner (whole printer busted the day before the convention *gaaaay*) so even my traditional work at most I can just submit crap phone photos of them lol.
Anywho, the convention went pretty well since I was working alone up till the last 3 hours of each day when my hubby would come help so I could take a break. Thou I did get extremely dehydrated the first day, not to the point I was in the hospital but enough to make me terribly sick the 2nd day. I still stuck with it thou! Did the whole convention day even thou I probably looked like crap from feeling so sick. After the convention was over thou I started getting really sick, ended up running a high fever the next day that lasted for two days. Fever finally broke today, but I ended up with low blood pressure and my hubby rushed me to the doctor after I had almost fainted while making dinner for our son. Doctor pretty much prescribed me to intake alot of sugar to fix my blood pressure as well as tons of water and juice, or other sort of sugar drinks.
Besides all of that, I do feel I am better equipped with the knowledge and experience to improve in my own artwork and setup for artist alley at conventions. I am hoping I can attend more, as I had did a really great job this first time and hope I can improve the next.
FAM'2014 (funan anime matsuri) I will be there on June 14th - 15th with my own booth(#15) I have tons of stuff up for sale. I will most likely be doing live chibi commissions on the spot as well. come check stuff out or just say hi.

So I am in the middle of prepping myself for upcoming FAM con and I have been doing 20 minute sketches, trying to get it to the point where I can ink+color them all in 20 minutes or less so that I am able to take in postcard sized commissions at the convention with no problem with time. So be prepared to see some uploads of a bunch of new sketches.
Feel free to suggest characters to be drawn, I am doing fanart since this is prepping for convention stuff.
Other good news, I was given a 10k grant for my school, but I had to enlist as a full time student instead of my current part time student status x.o Which ultimately means that I will not have any time to draw outside of homework time ;A; unless I were to skip a few nights of sleep during the week so I can draw new artwork for convention products etc. I have 3 more weeks left of this semester before I start as a full time student.
I did see tons of button badges, like almost every artist had those available D; which is sumthin I cannot invest in yet, have to wait about a month or two before I earn enough money from redbubble sales in order to try and get a machine. I was glad to see laminated badges, I was so unsure if those were even popular in this region, I knew of course they are in the USA. So I will be working on designing a few of these with chibi artwork.
I was a bit shocked seeing no one really doing any acrylic charms, I am assuming its becuz theres no one in this region even offering in acrylic charm printing/laser cutting services. The one I ended up going through for my own charms was all the way in the UK and yeah it was kinda expensive, but hopefully worth the investment.
It was really inspiring seeing all the different artist, and their work; and really intimidating for sure. Lol I feel like such a noob to some of those pros D: but I just gotta keep working my ass off to improve myself, and hopefully I will reach their standards.
I also think I might be able to do well selling customized hats? Anime/game related of course, I would have to order fleece for such stuff thou so its something I will be thinking about becuz that would be a big investment.

at my shop cupboard at Toy Outpost & Hako at the JCube outlet, its on the floor above the skating rink. The bookmarks are on the left side on the wall next to the cashiers, you will see a bunch of other stuff in it as well since I share the thing with some other sellers.
They are $3 SGD each, all are laminated Once I get my jumprings, and bubbled envelopes in I will be able to quote prices for buying online for the bookmarks as well as the acrylic charms. So be on the look out for updates ^^
